Huskies Sweep Pair from IUP

INDIANA, PA--The Bloomsburg University softball team swept a pair of games from Indiana (PA) on Friday by scores of 4-0 and 8-0 in five innings.
In game one, Tara Reed (Williamsport/Williamsport) fanned a career-high 15 batters and Shen DeBaro (Milton/Milton) drove in two runs in a three-run fourth inning to lead Bloomsburg to the victory. Reed struck out two batters in each of the first six innings and then closed out the game by striking out the side. She allowed just three hits in the game and only two batters to reach as far as third base.
In the nightcap, Casey Massimini (Downingtown/Downingtown West) went 2-3 and drove in three runs and Lori Neyard (Bloomsburg/Central Columbia) was 1-3 and drove in two runs to lead the Huskies. In the circle, Shavaun Fisher (Coplay/Allentown Central Catholic) allowed just three hits and struckout three to earn the victory.
Bloomsburg improves to 15-3, 4-0 in the PSAC Central Division, while IUP falls to 13-7, 0-2 in the PSAC Central. The Huskies host Slippery Rock on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Jan Hutchinson Field.
